Policies + Procedures for Wedding, Micro Wedding, and Elopement Rentals

Deposit: A non refundable booking deposit of 50% of total rental fee is required at the time your event is scheduled. The deposit is non-refundable even if you decide to cancel your event for any reason. Click here to view our covid19 guidelines.

  • Maximum Occupancy: Iris Aisle has been approved to a maximum occupancy of 75 persons, to include children ages 4 and up, attendees, participants, and food service personnel / vendors staying on the property. Elopements are 10 guests or less, Micro Weddings are 40 guests or less.

  • Compliance: All persons associated with the event must comply with the policies outlined in these policies and procedures guide and the county and state ordinances. Iris Aisle has the final say in disputes that arise from applications and interpretations of these policies. You are responsible financially for the actions of all your guests and wedding party. We reserve the right to have people removed for misconduct. Pets are allowed on a leash and can only be inside the conservatory for the ceremony. You are responsible for cleaning up after them.

  • Children: We love children! However we ask that all children be in the company of an adult at all times for safety reasons. We do not want anyone getting hurt. The conservatory is made of glass....no banging on windows or touching plants. Please stay on the paths, do not pick plants/ flowers unless agreed upon ahead of time. Many people use our facility and we want to be sure it's kept nice for everyone.

  • Smoking: We are a non- smoking facility. However, smoking is permitted in the designated smoking area. We respect your right to smoke we just ask the you help us keep our facility and grounds nice for our guests and for our future events. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IN THE FOREST PRESERVE.

  • Alcoholic Beverages: Iris Aisle is a beer and wine facility only. You CANNOT bring your own liquor unless you obtain or hire a vendor with a liquor license.

  • Music and Noise Factor: In accordance with your agreement with Iris Aisle, no music ( sound) is allowed after 10pm on weekends and 9pm on week days. Sound must be kept at a reasonable level during all events, sound check before each event. Iris Aisle will decide what is a reasonable level. We want to be courteous to our neighbors.

  • Travel on area roadways: We ask the all guests observe the speed limits on local roads. Holliwell Bridge Rd is on gravel. In the effort to keep dust at a minimum, we require all guests observe posted speed limits. If traveling from DSM it is best to take the St. Charles exit on 235. Turn right and follow this road all the way to Holliwell.

  • Parking: our parking area holds about 35 cars. We recommend carpooling as much as possible.

  • Decorations: Decorations must be approved by Iris Aisle. Nails, thumbtacks, staples, duct tape, scotch tape, and masking tape should not be used. String and ribbon work best. No confetti, rice, fireworks, silly string are allowed. Birdseed, bubbles, and rose petals are fine. No sky lanterns allowed.

  • Personal Property: Iris Aisle is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Anything damaged or stolen property will be the sole responsibility of the person or persons renting Iris Aisle's Facility + grounds.

  • Food and Beverages: We allow you to self-cater. However, there is no food prep at Iris Aisle, you must bring food already prepared. You are responsible for bottled water and other beverages served. All activities related to food preparation, presentation, serving, clean-up, and disposal of related garbage must be performed by you and your caterer.

  • Insurance: Iris Aisle requires users of the facility and grounds to purchase an event liability insurance policy if staying 2 hours or more naming Iris Aisle 2352 Holliwell Bridge Rd Winterset, IA 50273 as an additional insured. The policy shall be in the amount of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and must be provided to Iris Aisle 10 days in advance of the scheduled event date. The insurance may be obtained through WedSafe.com or by an insurance agency of your choice.

  • Rehearsal: You may schedule a 1 1/2 hr. ( Monday -Thursday) time to have a rehearsal, no rehearsal dinner at $150. Or 3 hrs ( Monday - Friday) time to have a rehearsal and cater in dinner at $500. These will have to be scheduled when there are no other events scheduled. Please be prompt and on time, there may be other wedding party rehearsals to be considered and overtime rates of $550/hr will apply.

  • Clean Up: Anything and everything that belongs to you must be taken at the end of your event, including all boxes used to transport items to our facility. Tables must be wiped and a quick sweep of the facility. All disposables must be in the garage containers provided. Please remember to include preparation, decoration, & clean up time in your rental. ( For example: If you choose to start your rental from 4pm-6pm but your caterer arrives at 3:30 and you need to decorate and set up, then you will need to book at 3:30 or 3pm. Cleanup must be done at the end of your rental time..not after. If you need more time please book it.) DO NOT LEAVE BEHIND DECORATIONS OR BELONGINGS.

  • We are not on site: View Iris Aisle as a vacation rental, or a pavilion you rent at a park. If you have vendors needing to be here before others arrive you will need to designate someone to meet them/ help.

  • Equipment Failures and Acts of God: Iris Aisle will not be held responsible for acts of God, including resulting damage to persons or property. Iris Aisle will not be responsible for problems due to mechanical failure of equipment or features on the property. We will not be responsible for power outages beyond our control. Sometimes there are unforeseen problems that might not be resolved in time for your event. However we will do everything within reason to correct issues that may arise.

  • Photos: Iris Aisle reserves the right to take and use photos of your event for promotional purposes.
